The international education community has recognized the Ontario Principals’ Council as a leader in training and learning opportunities for school administration. In response, OPC has developed a comprehensive three-week program for the international market.
The program was developed and refined through 3- to 4-week training sessions provided to groups of principals from Sri Lanka and Kuwait. Other countries are consulting with OPC to design and develop programs that meet the unique needs of their own school leaders.
Topics for the programs include training in the following areas:
1. Leadership in Education: School improvement and student success
2. School-based Organization, Operations and Management
3. Human Resources Management: Employment, recruitment professional development and training, supervision and evaluation of teachers and other staff
4. IT Management and Applications in Curriculum, Administration and Financial Management
5. School Planning and Development (students, teachers, parents, community).
The structure of the program allows for classroom presentations, guest presenters, OPC workshops, school visits and interactive opportunities for school leaders to share with each other and with Ontario educators.
Program development and delivery will be undertaken by highly experienced and well-qualified OPC staff, principals from around the province, presenters with high levels of expertise and policy decision-makers from across the province.
